What is $ATLA?

$ATLA is the native token of the Atleta Network — a Layer 1 blockchain ecosystem modernizing the sport industry. It serves as the foundation for all on-chain activity within the Atleta ecosystem.

Token Utilities

$ATLA has four core use cases:

1. Unit of Account

All activity on the Atleta blockchain is denominated in $ATLA. Whenever any action is executed on-chain, the computational resources consumed (electricity, block space) are calculated and expressed in $ATLA.

2. Settlement

Transaction fees on the Atleta Network are paid in $ATLA. Regardless of the transaction type, users need to hold $ATLA to participate as active network users and cover transaction costs.

3. Consensus & Governance

$ATLA is used for staking to secure the network (validators bonding to hardware, nominators staking). Stakers also gain access to ATLETAgov — a governance module built into the core protocol, allowing users to participate in governance processes (vote, discuss, and submit proposals).

4. Parachain Deployment

Parachains on Atleta borrow validator security and access interoperability features. Securing a parachain slot requires locking a certain amount of $ATLA coins as a guarantee of alignment and a security fallback.

Deflationary Mechanism (Burning)

$ATLA features a hybrid deflationary, fixed-supply economic model with a burning mechanism:

• Manual Burns — during the initial phase, the community governance module decides on burning treasury funds (from validator slashing, misappropriated bounties, etc.) through a public forum.

• Automatic Burns (future) — as the network matures, Atleta will implement EIP-1559-style transaction burns, where the base fee of each transaction is automatically burned, increasing deflationary pressure as network usage grows.
